What you get

One policy. Four ways it pays.

01

Coverage for life

Permanent protection that stays with you after you retire or change jobs.

02

Cash value that grows

Credited based on an index like the S&P 500, without your money being in the market.

03

Retirement income

Borrow from your cash value later to add to your pension and annuity.

04

A tax-free payout

A death benefit your spouse and kids generally receive free of income tax.

Why it matters

Life insurance through work vs. your own IUL

Group life is a great perk. It just isn't built to last, or to be enough on its own.

Group life through work
Your own IUL
Usually ends when you retire or leave
Yours for life
Often 1 to 2 years of salary
You choose the amount
No cash value
Builds cash value you can borrow
Nothing for retirement
Extra income alongside your pension
Pays only when you die
Living benefits for serious illness (with riders)
How the growth works

Market up, you grow. Market down, you don't lose it.

Your cash value earns interest based on how an index like the S&P 500 performs, up to a cap. In a down year, the index credit is never below 0%, so market losses don't come out of your cash value. Your money is never invested directly in the market.

Questions

Before you book

Is my money invested in the stock market?

No. Your cash value is credited based on how an index like the S&P 500 performs, but your money is never invested in the market directly. That's why a down year doesn't take your cash value down with it.

Do I have to give up my life insurance at work?

No. An IUL is your own policy and sits alongside whatever you have through work. When the work coverage ends, yours keeps going.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your age, health and how much coverage you want. Premiums are flexible, and on the call we'll show you options that fit your budget.

Can I get to the money if I need it?

Yes. Once your policy has built cash value, you can borrow against it with a policy loan, for a strike, a layoff, or to add to retirement income.

What happens on the call?

A relaxed conversation about your family, your work coverage and your retirement plans. If an IUL makes sense, we show you how it would work. If it doesn't, we'll tell you.

Your job's benefits stop. Yours don't have to.

STONE·HAVEN

Stone Haven · Indexed Universal Life Insurance

Indexed universal life insurance is a life insurance product, not a direct investment in the stock market or any index. Index credits are subject to caps, participation rates and policy charges, which can reduce cash value. Policy loans and withdrawals reduce cash value and death benefit and may cause the policy to lapse. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and current tax law; tax-free access assumes the policy stays in force and is not a modified endowment contract. Living benefit riders are optional, may carry extra cost and are subject to qualifying conditions. Guarantees are based on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer. Coverage is subject to underwriting. This page is for information only and is not tax, legal or investment advice.
